Naked Oats (De-husked Oats) – Usually oats make up about 15-25% of a chicken’s diet, but can comprise up to 60% of their diet, replacing the corn.
This cereal crop contains 12-14% protein, due to this lower protein content, they are ideal as a feed supplement rather than sole feed. They are higher in calcium than wheat and corn.
Naked Oats have been de-husked, so contain less fibre, which makes them more digestible for chickens and waterfowl.
Oats are a good cereal to feed many animals, as well as waterfowl.
