Our Mixed Corn consists of 75% wheat and 25% kibbled maize.
The cracked corn (kibbled Maize) is more palatable to the chickens than the wheat. But it is higher in fat and so more fattening. But it is ideal as a winter treat, helping to keep the chickens warm. It is also a good feed when birds are moulting.
Wheat can be used as staple diet for chickens and waterfowl.
Mixed Corn is an ideal scratching feed for keeping the chickens active. The scratching allows the foraging chickens to also find various grubs, worms and insects. This supplements their protein intake.
Mixed Corn is a good cereal mixture to feed to waterfowl.
